“As a member of Evergreen Indiana, it is important that we participate in the management of the collective database. At the time of our migration into EI, the bulk of our bibliographic content for A/V materials was not cataloged in MARC, and therefore, did not merge into the correct bibliographic records. An intern would assist the Head of Technical Services in this database clean-up, for our records as well as for the consortium. By using established consortia standards for matching records, the intern will eliminate duplicates. The WWPL Technical Services manager is trained in instructing other librarians in this process, and will be able to train the intern according to EI standards.”

We are located about 35 miles NE of Fort Wayne in Albion, Indiana. We are a fairly small district with a K-12 enrollment of just under 1,600 students. We have two elementary buildings, a middle school, and a high school. We feel we would present a unique opportunity for a SLIS student who would like to experience all grade levels during their internship. This would allow such an individual a wide range of interaction in a school library setting. We would like to be considered as a possible site for SLIS students who wish to do an internship in a school library. If you have any further questions or would like to speak to me, please don't hesitate to let me know.
